The Benefits of Electric Cars - Autos - Cars

The increasing concern about the state of the environment has seen gas-guzzling automobiles become a target of much dispute. It's no secret that the carbon-emissions being pumped into the environment every second by diesel-driven cars is having a major detrimental effect, which is why solutions like electric cars are becoming more popular.Electric cars offer transport driven by an alternative fuel source - electricity. Carrying an on board battery pack which can be recharged as needed, electric cars make way for convenient 're-fuelling'. You can charge up the batteries of an electric car both at service stations or at home, meaning preparing for long journeys doesn't need to factor in a visit to the petrol station since you can charge up before leaving. They compare admirably with petrol vehicles, with several aspects of electric cars being far cheaper than their less efficient counterparts. Since you can charge your electric car at home, the benefits from not having to pa
y for fuel are instantaneous. Over time, this can offset what you have to pay for the car itself as, frequently, electric cars are a little more expensive than petrol ones. However, the current main reason for the electric car's popularity is its eco-friendliness. The energy efficiency of the electric car excels above gasoline vehicles, which are well known to pump carbon emissions into the environment from their tail pipes. To begin with, electric cars do not even have a tail pipe. Although they still create some emissions that are bad for the environment, as well as increase the need for electricity generation, the comparison between the two types of car is very significantly in the electric car's favour. We all try to do our bit for the environment these days and, if you're thinking it's time to get a new car, an electric car could be a very worthy investment, both economically and ecologically. What's more, if you're unsure about taking the plunge, there are plenty of hyb
rid car insurance available that combine the efficiency of electricity with gasoline driving in a way that allows the two to complement one another with ease. The gasoline is used when cars are driving at certain speeds and electricity when idle or moving slowly. Electric cars are a fantastic way to help reduce carbon emissions and there are many well-designed models too, so if you're searching for a new car, consider an electric one for excellent environmental efficiency.

Monsoon car launches - Autos - Cars

The past few months saw the launch of a number of cars across segments in the Indian car market. Ever since the New Delhi Auto Expo there have been lots of models that have been in the pipeline. The Indian car market is all set to get two new cars in the months of June and July. Here is a preview of all three.

Firstly, the car that is expected to make it to the Indian shores in June is the top of the line super luxury Volkswagen Phaeton at an ex showroom price tag of Rs 76.3 lakh. The car would be imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), third in the line after Touareg and the new Beetle. According to Neeraj Garg, member of the board and director cars, Volkswagen India, "We have no bookings for the Phaeton since it is in a niche segment." The Volkswagen Phaeton's speculated specifications include a 3.6L V6 Petrol capable of producing 280 PS (206kW) at 6250 rpm and 370 Nm at 3500 rpm. The car would have a 6 Speed tiptronic system and 17" Impression Alloy Wheels (235/55 R17).

This is not all as the Volkswagen group's Chakan plant is gearing up for the launch of an all new sedan the Volkswagen Vento (which means wind in Portuguese and Italian). The plant is all set to produce approximately 100 cars a day now as the production of Vento is set to commence from July. But the car would be available only later in the year. The Volkswagen Vento would be available in both diesel and petrol models. The Volkswagen Vento would have the Polo's 1.6-litre petrol engine. The engine would most probably be imported.

The second car to start bookings in India is the eagerly awaited and much anticipated Nissan Micra. The India unit of Nissan Motor would start selling Micra hatchback from July. The cars would be in the showrooms in India from May 25 and the bookings would commence thereon. Ling Cars Launch On-Line Site Traffic Mapping Using Whoson - Marketing - Marketing Tips

Worlds first live, accessible on-line site-traffic mapping.

A world's-first benchmark in on-line business transparency, ingenuity and customer inter-activity has been notched up by the UK's favourite car leasing company.

Internet car-leasing specialists, , has launched a live sitemap on its website that shows the presence and cyber-whereabouts of each of the 85,000 people who visit the site each month.

In keeping with the entertaining, tongue-in-cheek ethnic branding introduced by LINGsCARS.com proprietor, Chinese immigrant, Ling Valentine (35) - who famously uses a fake nuclear rocket launcher as her company symbol - the live page is jokingly presented as a Maoist detention camp. Individual site visitors are seen as animated 'prisoners' exploring and flitting around 'Camp Ling' - the virtual 'showroom' - checking availability, prices and financial arrangements.

"This is the first time that a small on-line business has used the kind of technology that has been the exclusive preserve of massive organisations like the Stock Exchanges and International money markets." says Ling. "Anyone, anywhere, can see my business working, minute-by-minute, hour-by-hour, in real time.

"You can see how many people are looking for a new car; which marques they are interested in, how often they've visited my site before, whether they've decided to lease one or not and where they are on the site. I also show the most popular cars, in pecking order.

The software was built by Ling's in-house team of programmers who used Parker Software's Software to track how visitors use the website in real time and allow visitors to communicate via live chat and click to call-back. Customers can simply browse to LINGsCARS website and click the button to begin talking live with Ling herself.

"We've built in quite a few jokes because we believe the whole business of choosing a new car should be fun," she says. "My customers know that behind the gags and diversions we take their enquiries very seriously indeed. We deliver 42m-worth of cars a year, after all.

"I've gone out of my way from the start to be a completely new and different route to accessing a new car - any make or any model. 'Camp Ling' simply makes my business model even more transparent and convincing. Customers getting a car on-line for the first time find it reassuring to know that they're in the company of plenty of other on-line car leasing 'virgins' looking for a great deal.

"With anything from 30-to-90 people on site at any one time around-the-clock, it's fascinating to watch - a bit like TV sport. You can literally track the progress each one of my 1 million visitors a year, including yourself!

"It's about as far removed from going to your local one-brand car dealership as you can get. It was always my intention to re-invent the car retail business and find a totally new and simple way of getting a new car from your home computer."

Camp Ling may have the look of a rather dated metaphor from China's insular past but it's a cutting-edge confidence-builder.

A world first for Internet business.
