Alto the leading car in ultra low car segment - Autos - Cars

<p>From the past two decades it is Maruti Suzuki India Limited, country's largest car maker, who has been ruling the Indian automotive industry. People have faith in it and in its offering thus it manages to defeat its closest rivals like Hyundai India, Honda India etc...Maruti India had launched various car models in India including Swift hatch, mid-sized sedan Swift Dzire, Kizashi premium sedan , Sx4 sedan etc... but Alto has been the highest selling compact car in India for long, long time. Alto is one of the best four wheeler in terms of pricing as well as quality. With Alto hatch, the domestic firm directly targets the first time drivers or buyers and for those who wants to switch from two wheeler to four wheeler. The compact size of the car makes it's easy to drive even in busiest or narrowest of Indian streets.</p>



<p>Maruti Alto is powered by a 796 cc, 3 cylinder MPFI petrol engine that produces 47 PS of top output power at 6200 RPM and 62 Nm of peak torque at 3000 RPM. The car crosses 0 to 100 kmph mark in just 17.7 seconds and attains a top speed of 130 km per hour. Car offers an impressive fuel economy of 19.73 km per liter which is best in class. Additionally, the home grown car maker added three more CNG versions of Alto which further boost up the tag of eco-friendly cars in India. The three CNG variants are Alto Green STD BS IV, Maruti Alto Green LX BS IV and Maruti Alto Green LXI BS IV along with petrol motor. SO user has an option to switch between CNG or petrol motor. The CNG kit installed in the car is powered by the i-GPI technology that belts out 39.4 PS of max power at 6200 RPM and pumps out 54 Nm of top torque at 3000 RPM. The fuel economy of CNG car is further improved to 20.2 kg/km.</p>



<p>Last year in the month of October Maruti India had offered the limited editions of Alto christened as Maruti Alto Xplore. This limited edition car bestow various exciting features such ass advanced double-DIN stereo with USB and Bluetooth, Exciting body graphics, ORVM's, body colored bumpers etc... Alto L10 comes in with more powerful 1 litre 998 cc engine that produces 68 PS of top power and 90 Nm of peak torque.</p>



<p>Bust in past few months the market leader is getting stiff competition from Hyundai's recently launched EON hatchback. EON also powered by 814 cc petrol engine and comes equipped with many exciting features. Hyundai EON present much more refreshed and appealing body sculpture which surely attracts large consumers. The competition will become more stiffer as Nissan India, the Japanese auto major, also plans to introduce a sub 3 lakh hatch to compete against Maruti's Alto and Hyundai's EON. Nissan Ultra low car is being under construction and likely to hit Indian shores by the next year 2013.</p>
