<p>A few years ago I would never have thought of having a personalised number plate, license plate or registration plate. However these days it seems to be a must fashion accessory. It is becoming a bit of a viral obsession and as important as the actual car itself. Maybe it's because we now have new cars released twice a year instead of once and a new car doesn't have the same wow affect for as long any more. Whatever the reason take a look around the next time you walk through a car park or stop at the traffic lights. Everyone seems to have them.</p>

<p>Private license plates are fast becoming a way of life. Car lovers are increasingly opting for personalised car license plates. Trends show that owning a private registration plate is a lifestyle statement. It shouts about your personality and individuality distinguishing you from the crowd.</p>

<p>To own a personalised private number plate is quite something. The question is where do you buy one and what do you buy?</p>

<p>It is important to know what your license plate is going to symbolise. It is important to understand what your registration plate will represent. Initials and names have proven to be very popular. The DVLA has created a huge range of license plates containing initials and names. However people are now becoming more adventurous with their choices choosing to include their favourite sport or car make in the registration plate. A search on a specialized site is bound to throw up ideas of interest for you.</p>

<p>Using specialised searches can help in the research process after all this car license plate is about your uniqueness and individuality, you want it to be right or it could become costly. Many celebrities sport unique number plates. Paul Daniels has MAG IC and James Martin has 6 HEF which are examples of car registration plates which represent their occupations rather than names or initials. Many people choose to show nicknames or their sporting heroes such as 3 LFC or C431 SEA representing Liverpool Football Club and Chelsea Football Club respectively. </p>

<p>It would be pretty impressive to have a number plate like 911 or P03 CHE if you owned a Porsche and quite funny if you owed a robin reliant and put a car registration plate of F13 ARI or SP33 D on it. I don't know? Is owning a private registration plate like owning a mulberry bag or an iphone. I coveted both these items for a while before actually purchasing them but I think the car license plate choice would require a lot more thought. After all we are considering the image we want to portray to the world. Should it be a sporty one like BOX 33R or 10 ACE for boxing or tennis but then i'm not really into boxing and i'm not great at tennis or should I go for one that reminds me of a special location like PAR 715S for Paris. Do you see what I mean the options are endless? The sensible me and the business women me is screaming go for something that markets my business yet the playful me says go for something funny like 123 BUM or FA3 TS.</p>

<p> Websites dedicated to selling license plates can be used as a tool for finding that gem or they can be used to handle the whole process. Once you have selected your number plate, everything else will be taken care of and your documentation and paper work will be efficiently handled with your new car license plates arriving within a few days.</p>

<p>Personal registration plates are also called cherished registration plates. It is a myth that these plates cost the earth and that only the rich can afford them. These days' people from all backgrounds and walks of life are opting for private car license plates. Private number plates add a distinctive edge to your car and say something about you or not if you don't get one soon.</p>

<p>A unique car license plate can work out as good investment and I am willing to bet that there are not many resold at a loss. Can you image if you managed to buy one which referred to a pop-star say for example one like 8A8A for gaga and sold it for a huge profit. It then becomes much easier to justify spending on it. However beware it could also work the other way whereby you see your ideal one only it's on another car and then it becomes your obsession, you must have it, you dream about it until you decide you must have it then you convince yourself you need it...have you been here before...i have...with my mulberry bag and my iphone. Then all logic goes out the window and i'll pay over the odds for the car license plate which i have convinced myself that basically I need to live.</p>

<p>All that said I think i've definitely got the bug and I never thought i'd here myself saying this but "I'm a car license plate spotter", I went out this morning and spotted at least five initial ones and one strange one that I can only guess that the driver must be a milkman. Maybe i'll start a car license plates anonymous association or a car license plates enthusiasts club. I think however I may have to take the plunge first and actually purchase one. So my search begins. Anyway enough rambling from me so please sent your spotted ones on a postcard to. No but really doh I sound like that Little Britain character now. I wonder what one she would have maybe N0 8UT or Y3AH 8UT. </p>
